Light - This beacon to mariners was first lit in 1840. There
are blue flags (irises) in abundance in season, as well as lupins in June and lots of wild

 Firefighter's Museum
& National Exhibit Centre features almost every type of fire
engine ever used in Nova Scotia & beyond. The only firefighters museum in Canada. 451

 Yarmouth County Museum - Well known for its
collection of ships paintings. One of ten museums from across Canada to receive the
1989 Canadian Parks Service Heritage award. |
 Frost
Park, Main St.- One of the areas earliest cemeteries, it

 Sandford
Wharf - has one of the smallest drawbridges in the world as
part of its structure. The existence of this drawbridge allows the boats to move in to

 Killam Brothers Wharf & Marina, Water St. - Free Public Marina for visiting yachts; features a gondola and picnic
benches, and scenic view of the waterfront. |
 Yarmouth Walking
Tour - see a wealth of architectural detailing and style that have
remained virtually unchanged since the time of their construction. Ask for the brochure at
the Yarmouth Tourist Assoc. information booth. |
 Sealed Landers Mill Stone - Located
at this foot of Vancouver Street, these stones were used in a mill established near this
site by Sealed Landers, the first settler in the Town of Yarmouth. |
Utkubok Trail - Arcadia, near Yarmouth. Features Wildlife Habitat
Stations strategically placed to highlight 12 distinct and valuable local wildlife
habitats. Also includes activity stations along the trail for fitness enthusiasts and
children. The trail is wheelchair accessible with assistance. |
Chebogue Meadows Interpretive Trail - Provides an interesting walk
through 12 distinct wildlife habitats.. Trail brochures are available from the Department
of Lands and Forests office in Yarmouth. |
Beaches and Parks 
Ellenwood Park - a provincial picnic park 15 minutes from Yarmouth on Lake Ellenwood. Facilities
for camping, picnicking, hiking and swimming (supervised). |
Port Maitland Provincial Park &
Beach - has picnic tables and change houses, with a large (approx.
1 mile) sandy open beach. Very popular. |
Lake Milo - (fresh water) in north
Yarmouth. Popular with children and families, the Milo boat club provides summertime
supervision, as well as canoe rentals, and other services

Johns Cove - near Yarmouth,
just a short distance before the Lighthouse at Cape Forchu. Offers a sheltered area of
sand and swimming, and a great view of incoming ferries and boats in Yarmouth harbour. |
Pembroke Beach - near Yarmouth. Small and secluded.. A driveway in the sand marks the entry
point. |
Sand Beach -
near Yarmouth. Lots of sand, secluded, and.offers a beautiful view of the harbour and Cape
Forchu. |
Glenwood Picnic Park - a
provincial picnic park, with well maintained grounds, eating areas, etc. A quiet spot,
just off Hwy 103, and nestled by the Tusket River. |
Bartletts Beach - a few miles past Port Maitland. Smaller sheltered beach, with lots of sand and
more privacy. |
